The Cyprus Tourism Organization characterizes the increase in tourist revenues in February as important.

The CTO notes that based on official data, revenues from tourism for February 2016 amounted to € 37,6 million, recording an increase of 21,7% compared to the corresponding revenues from tourism in February 2015.

It is added that regarding the first two months of the year, the total tourist revenues are increased, recording an increase of 12,5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and are estimated at € 66,7 million.

It is noted that the increase in revenues during the first two months of the year is mainly due to the significant increase of 23,9% recorded by the tourist flow to Cyprus during this period. It is encouraging that the daily expenditure of tourists who visited Cyprus during this period is increased by 3.4%.

"At the same time, it is recorded that the long-term trend of reduced length of stay, which continues this year, has reduced the increases observed in tourism revenues," said the CTO.

The CTO expresses the belief that, with dedication to duty, continuous effort and good coordination among all tourism partners, even better results can be achieved, with a direct impact on the country's economic indicators.
