For the second consecutive year, in the walled city of occupied Famagusta, the Epitaph procession was performed in the Holy Temple of Agios Georgios of Exorinos, in an atmosphere of ecstasy and emotion.
People gathered in Famagusta mainly with buses that have been chartered from all cities: Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Paralimni.
In the morning, volunteers decorated the epitaph and the dismantling took place. The procession, led this year by Metropolitan Vassilios, started at 4:30 in the afternoon. Around 6:30 the Epitaph procession took place.
In total, about 300 people attended the procession, including the Turkish Cypriot mufti Fuad Tosun, the mayor of Famagusta Alexis Galanos, the parliamentary representative of DISY Nikos Tornaritis, the MEP of DISY Lefteris Christoforos Koulefos for Humanitarian Issues and Expatriate Issues Fotis Fotiou.
The Diocese of Constantia - Famagusta had invited "as many believers as possible to attend the procession of the Epitaph in occupied Famagusta".
