Damage of 1.500 euros was caused in a tire store in Ayia Napa, by a fire caused by a short circuit due to overcharging of the charging system of electric bicycles that were inside the store.
According to the Police, around 23:40 last night, a fire broke out in a tire shop in Ayia Napa, owned by a 48-year-old man from Paralimni. The fire was extinguished by the Kokkinochoria Fire Department.
Inside the store there were in addition to tires, electric bicycles which at the time of the fire were under charge.
According to the examinations of the Fire Service, the fire was caused by a short circuit due to overloading of the bicycle charging system.
The fire caused damage to the store amounting to 1.500 euros. The store is not covered by insurance coverage while according to the investigations of the Police there is no suspicion of criminal activity.
