The most hard to find country on the map for the British is Cyprus

a 3884 NewsMost Britons who have spent or are planning to spend their holidays in Cyprus cannot show on the map where the island is located, according to a British Airways survey.

53% of those surveyed thought that Cyprus belongs geographically to Greece. Cyprus proved to be the most difficult country to be marked on the map by the British.

Turkey followed, with 49% of the country's visitors geographically identifying it in Ukraine. Among other things, 24% of Britons who have booked a holiday in Ireland trying to locate it on the map showed Spain, while a similar percentage of Spanish visitors showed France as a destination on the map.

Visitors from Athens and other Greek regions confused Greece with 29%, while almost one in four showed Belarus on the map instead of Italy.

One in five respondents did not know the capital of the country they are visiting.

When asked what criteria they use to choose their tourist destination, 65% of British tourists indicated the temperature, 61% the attractions and 52% the accommodation offered.
