A 49-year-old resident of Deryneia reported to the Police the burglary and theft of his house, which is alleged to have taken place between the dates of December 24 and 25.
According to the Police, the 49-year-old complained that an unknown person or persons broke into his house in Deryneia and took from a metal safe that was wall-mounted in the bedroom, three envelopes containing the amount of 16.000 euros and 500 Swiss francs.
Police men immediately rushed to the scene and examinations revealed that the perpetrators entered through the bathroom window on the west side of the house, after breaking the glass.
Then with the use of emery they stole the money from the safe but not the gold. The house did not have an alarm system or a closed monitoring system.
Various items were received from the scene which will be sent for scientific examinations.
