The Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta Mr. Vassilios is visiting St. Petersburg these days, accompanied by the member of the Throne Committee of the Diocese and Mayor Sotira Mr. Georgios Takkas.
Mr. Vitali Milonov invited the Most Venerable to lay the foundation stone of the Greek Church of the Holy Myrrh Bearers in St. Petersburg. Mr. Vitaly Milonov is the Chairman of the Committee on Institution and Values in the Russian Parliament.
On the morning of Saturday, October 12, Metropolitan Constantius Vassilios performed the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow, with the support of the Most Reverend Bishop Tsarskoye Selo Marcello and clergy of the region.
After the end of the Divine Mystagogy, Panierotatos offered Bishop Markello a breastplate, which bears the image of Saint Epiphanius, patron saint of the Diocese, and a copy of the holy icon of Panagia Ayia Napa.
Immediately after, the Metropolitan of Constantia and Famagusta performed the procession of Agiasmos and laid the foundation stone at the place where the Greek church of Agios Myroforos will be erected.
On Sunday, October 13, Panierotatos participated in a hierarchical service at St. Petersburg Cathedral.
During his stay in St. Petersburg, Panierotatos will have contacts and meetings with various actors.
