This year marks the 200th anniversary of the theft of the Parthenon Sculptures by Lord Elgin, who smuggled them into the United Kingdom and has remained in the British Museum ever since.

Many efforts were made and several international campaigns were undertaken to return the Sculptures to their natural place, the Parthenon, one of the most important monuments of world culture.

On the occasion of the completion of exactly two centuries since their illegal removal from the historical monument of the ancient Acropolis of Athens, the Cyprus News Agency (KYPE), wanting to contribute in its own way to keeping the issue up to date, decided to take the initiative collection of signatures in Cyprus.

Not accepting the logic of resigning from a fair request, KYPE, as a public information service in Cyprus, invites everyone to join him in the universal effort to return the Sculptures to the Acropolis.

We all support the initiative of KYPE, by electronically signing the relevant resolution at avaaz.org clicking HERE.
