"Makronisos" beach in Ayia Napa is famous as one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Cyprus. What we saw today, however, around the showers on the beach is unacceptable and offensive for a country wants to be famous for its tourism…
As you can see in the video, there is stagnant water around the showers and in addition to the ugly appearance, they are so dirty that there is a risk of creating outbreaks of infection and disease transmission.
It is imperative that the authorities act immediately to correct the unacceptable situation created and to channel the water through a sewer in the surrounding wooded area. Also, the existing weeds must be cleaned, so that the beach looks equal to the expectations of our tourists.
