We have one more year until the presidential elections and we have time to discuss them, said on Sunday Archbishop Chrysostomos II, invited to comment on a press article regarding the processes for the presidential elections.

"It is not the time we have another year until the presidential elections, we have time to discuss them, let us leave the people alone," said the Archbishop.

Commenting on reports in Turkey, according to which the Gospel of the Apostle Barnabas is in Ankara, the Archbishop noted that the Church of Cyprus had offered the Gospel found on the chest of the Apostle Barnabas there in the tomb and presented it to the Byzantine emperor.

I wish it to be that and it will be an honor for us to be that. "Of course it belongs. I can say today in Turkey we can not claim it because we gave it to the emperor then," he said.

"The city was conquered and all the valuables were taken by the conquerors, so I do not believe that today we can claim such a thing, but we wish it to be the real gospel and our joy will be great because the manuscript gospel found on its chest is saved. Our Apostle ", added the Archbishop.

Regarding the pan-Cypriot fundraiser conducted by the Archdiocese of Cyprus to support the Greek people, the Archbishop said that our people have responded richly. As he said the kindness of this people and their love is indescribable.

"We can say that these people have enslaved us. He is worth a lot and we must intensify our efforts to serve him as much as possible. This is the feeling that has been with me lately. "We have a wonderful people," he added.

Archbishop Chrysostomos spoke after the memorial service for the heroes Christos Kkelis, Miltiadis Stylianou, Georgios Michael and Charalambos Karagiannis, which was held at the Church of St. Catherine in Tala.
