According to the announcement of EVEA, in relation to the Cyprus issue, the President of the Republic expressed his determination to continue the efforts for the resolution of the Cyprus issue, despite the difficulties that are presented.
On the issue of returning the city of Famagusta to its legal residents, President Anastasiadis said that the Government's proposal to open the city remains on the table, but the Turkish side combines the whole issue with the recognition of the illegal airport in occupied Tympus, which cannot be accepted by us.
EVEA briefed on the initiatives taken by the E / K and T / C Famagusta movement for the unified urban planning of the city and suggested the creation of a technical committee in the negotiations, for the preparation of the ground in case of opening of the city .
The President of EVEA, George Mavroudis, thanked President Anastasiadis for the information and useful exchange of views and expressed the support of the Chamber in its efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue.
