BMW will present the prototype Active Tourer Outdoor at the Friedrichshafen Outdoor show.

This prototype uses a plug-in hybrid drive system that combines a 1,5-liter internal combustion engine with an electric motor (PHEV).

This set will deliver a total of 190 hp and will allow the crossover to complete 0-100 km / h in less than 8 dl. with a final speed of 200 km / h.

In fact, with the combined use of the engines, an average consumption of 2,5 l / 100 km and emissions below 60 g / km will be achieved, according to the German company.

The Active Tourer Outdoor will be based on the Bavarian company's new, front-wheel drive platform, called "UKL1", which has as its main feature the reduction of the weight of all new cars, as well as the improvement of their rigidity.

Also, this prototype model will be the basis for the one-volume and longer family version of the BMW 1 Series, which may be codenamed "Series 1 GT".
