Following the even name of the BMW coupe models, the new X4 comes as a production model in 2014, being the smallest SUV with Bavarian coupes.

The BMW X4, the smallest "sister" of the X6, our Bavarians have shown to date in its original form, first in Shanghai in April and most recently, in late November in Los Angeles. Now and in the AA Quarter of 2014 we are expected to see the revelations of the production version, which will be placed next to the X3 as its most coupe choice. But we, with the help of our spies, reveal to you today who the new Bavarian model is.

It impresses with its presence

The new BMW X4 will have a body length of 4.648 mm. and wheelbase at 2.810 mm. (like the X3), thus within the category of mid-size luxury Crossover. In terms of design, the X4 displays an intensely sporty character, shaped through its dynamic lines and proportions. The number 4 is in line with the new philosophy of the BMW 4 Series, which will feature the mid-size coupe and convertible models of the German brand. Particularly impressive is the width of 1.915 mm, while the height of 1.622 mm. is 39 mm. lower than the X3. In addition to the long bonnet, short headlights and rear-facing passenger compartment, BMW IDs include the characteristic sharp drop of the roofline, which like the X6 gives the car the necessary coupe note and shows longer. Compared to the original, the changes we will see in the production model are the addition of round daytime running lights in the front and a new insert in the center of the bumper, while in the rear the differences will be minimal.

Exclusively turbo and four-wheel drive

The range of X4 powertrains will include the turbo powertrains used by X3 today. These are 3 petrol engines (2 liter with 184 and 245 hp and 3 liter with 306 hp) and 3 turbodiesel (2 liter with 184 hp and 3 liter with 258 and 313 hp). The transmission will be 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic and advanced technology, while all-wheel drive will be transmitted to all 4 wheels via the BMW xDrive system. The system uses a multi-disc clutch to continuously change the torque distribution on the front and rear axles, while also working with the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system to immediately neutralize any oversteer or reversal voltage. BMW is seriously considering and is almost certain to launch an M version of the model.
