e- Cypriot: One in two shop online

"Yes" to online shopping answered 58% of respondents to the e-cypriot survey presented for the 4th consecutive year by OgilvyOne in collaboration with the research company InsightMarketResearch… 

More specifically in 2011, 58% of respondents said they shop online, compared to 53% in 2010. The percentage of men who answered positively reached 61% and the percentage of women 55%. In fact, it seems that the ages between 19 and 34 years old face it most positively, as in the group of 19-24 years old 61% answered that they shop online, as well as 62% of the group of 25-34 years old.

The use of e banking services also increased, as in 2011 users reached 48% from 44% in 2010. According to the survey, in 2011 internet use in Cyprus increased to 62% from 56% in 2010 and 43% in 2009.

78% of users surf the internet both on weekdays and weekends, while on a monthly basis 71% visit web pages daily, 13% five to six times a week and 9% three to four times a week. The average number of visits per month is estimated at 25,9 times.
