The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, on the occasion of the submission today in the Greek Parliament, of the bill on marriage and childbearing by same-sex couples.

The bill on the marriage and adoption of same-sex couples is being discussed today in the Plenary Session of the Parliament, while tomorrow Thursday it will be put to a vote after the positions of the political leaders.

A request for a roll call vote on the bill regarding the marriage of same-sex couples was officially submitted to the Parliament.

Specifically, 21 MPs filed a request for a roll-call vote, on the principle and on all the articles of the bill concerning the marriage of same-sex couples.

The vote is expected to take place on Thursday.

The Conference of the Presidents of the Parliament decided to set aside up to two days for its discussion and voting.

In the past days, during the elaboration of the draft law in the committees of the Parliament, in which it was decided not to include the Church in the hearing of the institutions, "yes", in principle the rapporteurs of New Democracy, SYRIZA, PASOK, New Left and Freedom of Navigation. The KKE, Hellenic Solution, Niki and the Spartans declared against the bill, with a different perspective and argument.
