His wife, dressed in black, arrived at the church shortly after 12.00 accompanied by members of her family in order to attend the exit procession of her husband. Evidently disturbed by her adventure from the coronavirus, she passed the door of the church, unable to believe that from one moment to the next she lost her support.

Tragas died last Tuesday at the age of 72 after battling the coronavirus.

The testimony of his brother

Excited and at the same time angry feels for the unexpected departure of George Tragas, his half-brother Nikos, who talks to protothema.gr about their last communication, but also about his brother's decision not to be vaccinated as a chronic diabetic:

"He had an opinion of his own, he believed that he should not be vaccinated and he finally paid with his life. From the summer we had talked on his phone, I had said "George, vaccinate". What he did was unacceptable. If you ask me of course and I'm sad that he left like that, but I feel more angry because he left. Because of his health he should have been vaccinated when the vaccine appeared. He was the son of a doctor and should have been vaccinated. Unfortunately, George did not listen, he did his own thing. "He should have heard the doctor."

The two half-brothers were 13 years apart with the older Nikos Traga remembering that from a young age George had expressed the desire to become a journalist:

"As a child, George was a revolutionary and even from a young age he wanted to become a journalist. The last few years we were a little distant the truth is, but we always cared for each other. He was my little brother we were 13 years apart. Too bad too bad. I talked to his children and they are sad and reasonable ".
