Shocking is the description of the 38-year-old woman who almost lost her life on Saturday when the father of her child tried to rape her and also stabbed her with a kitchen knife in their apartment in Thessaloniki.

For half an hour, the 39-year-old Georgian threatened to kill her, too, in order to first protect her son, who witnessed the horrible image, but also herself, trying to calm him down, speaking to him calmly, with unimaginable composure.
Fortunately, she managed to escape and hide in the bathroom. "With great effort I entered the bathroom where I found my cell phone and called the police. As soon as the police arrived at the apartment and finally disarmed the 39-year-old, the young mother tried to keep calm by talking, without outbursts, so as not to attack them.
He denied everything
The 39-year-old was brought before the investigator today in order to apologize. He denied attempting to rape and then stabbing his mother's mother to death, saying it was an "ordinary quarrel".
"We quarreled over something insignificant. The quarrel became intense and I tried to tear her clothes. I did not want to rape her. At one point I escaped, took the knife and attacked her. I had no intention of killing herHe argued.
His allegations, however, were not convincing and he was sentenced to probation.

Speaking on the same show, Manuela Temertzidou, the victim's lawyer, revealed that the 38-year-old remains in shock.
