About two weeks ago we had the Euroleague final, between Olympiakos and CSKA Moscow. Ίvkovic's young talents made the big upset and were crowned European champions in the last fractions of a second…

Many were the ones who turned off the TV and went to bed when Olympiakos lost by 19 points. But the law of "whoever laughs last laughs better" was enforced and the Russians even now can not believe how they literally lost the trophy through their hands.

Last Saturday, football had its honor as it was the final of the Champions League, between Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Although Bayern played better football, they counted without Drogba. The game went into extra time and then on penalties, where Chelsea was crowned European champions for the first time in its history and in fact in Munich.
This Saturday, however, it has neither basketball nor football but Eurovision. (* Of course we do not forget the Sunday basketball derby Olympiacos - Panathinaikos) We here in the free province of Famagusta have two reasons to watch Eurovision, even if some of us are not fans. One reason is called Eleftheria and the other Ivi. Yes, this year Eurovision is not just a Cypriot affair, but a Red Village affair.

Therefore, whether you are a man or a woman, whether you have seen Eurovision before or not, whether you like this institution, or consider it a "festival", you will do well to watch it this year. Ayia Napa and Frenaros represent Cyprus and Greece respectively, and our girls' goal is to get a good position and make us all proud. And as you know, upheavals have happened and are happening everywhere, so we too can hope for a miracle.

So on occasion, gather your friends at home, make wheat chickens and watch Eurovision together. It does not hurt…
