A memorial service for the fallen and a prayer for the fate of the missing Sotira was held yesterday Sunday at the Church of the Resurrection of the Savior in Sotira, in the presence of relatives and missing Sotiras and representatives of the Municipality, the Government and other officials.
On behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis, the Secretary General of the Presidency, Mr. Theodosis Tsiolas, addressed the commemorative speech. Among others, the memorial service was attended by the Deputy Prefect of Famagusta, Mr. Andros Ktoridis, on behalf of the President of DI.KO, Mr. Marios Karoyan, the member of the Central Committee, Mr. Sergis Poizis and the Common Leader of the Occupied Community and relative of the hero Efstathios Petros, Mr. Michalakis Petrou.
The memorial service was preceded by a procession of the Reserve Paratroopers Sotiras, who carried flame from the chapel of Agia Thekla to the monument, inviting an invitation to the fallen and the missing.
After the memorial service, songs were presented by the Choir of the Municipality of Sotira.

After the identification of the bones of the missing, Antonis Pantelis, his family announced that the funeral of the hero will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013.
