It is already known that Honda is preparing a small Crossover. After all, the Japanese made their intentions clear by presenting the original Urban SUV Concept at the Detroit show in January 2013. The French L 'Automobile has revealed the plans submitted for patent by Honda, which reveal what we actually expected: that the new model will be almost no different in appearance from the Urban SUV Concept.

This is the replacement of the popular in our country HR-V, who will be called to put Honda again in a category that it actually created in 1998 and that from 2006 onwards left without representation. However, the success of the Nissan Juke has attracted almost all manufacturers to present their own models, such as the Chevrolet Trax, Renault Captur, Opel Mokka and Peugeot 2008.

The official premiere of the small Honda Crossover is expected to take place at the Tokyo Motor Show in late November, with production starting in 2014. It will initially be presented in Japan and the USA, to be followed later by European markets. The Urban SUV is based on the new Global Compact Series platform used by the new Jazz, from which it will borrow smart space and usability solutions, such as the Magic Seats rear seats.

Although the range of engines is still unknown, it is almost certain that under the hood of the small Crossover will find a place the new 1.600 hp diesel i-DTEC that we first met in the new Civic.
