Easter Sunday is approaching and the Consumer Protection Service has completed a survey by collecting data on the levels of retail prices of fresh meat and delicacies for prices that were valid on 23.04.2019, with the aim of better consumer information and better preparation of Easter table.

More specifically, 1 kg of lamb pieces costs an average of 7,67 euros, while 1 kg of whole lamb costs 7,19 euros on average. The pork steak ranges from 2,99 euros up to 6 euros, while the 1 kg pork minced meat from 1,99 euros up to 6,50 euros. Minced beef is from 4,90 euros up to 12 euros per kilo. As for the whole 1 kg chicken, the lowest prices were from 2,49 euros to 5,50 euros. Finally, the price for a kilo of local rabbit was on average 8,51 euros.

In terms of delicacies, savory flaunes cost an average of 10,13 euros per kilo, while flaunches with raisins cost an average of 10,22 euros per kilo.

Regarding fresh meat, prices were received from 97 points of sale (large and small supermarkets and neighborhood butchers), while for the dishes from 68 points of sale (large and small supermarkets and bakeries). The Observatory covers all provinces.

Finally, it is emphasized that the prices presented in each publication of the Price Observatory, refer to the prices on the specific date on which the receipt of prices took place, ie April 23, 2019.
