The Archbishop of Cyprus George said that they are constantly working to clarify the case of the Abvakum Monastery.

Answering questions from journalists during his attendance at the press conference for the 39th Marathon of Love for the Missing, the Archbishop was asked when the process for the investigations at Abvakum Monastery will end.

"When it will end, I don't know," he said. But I know, he added, "that they are constantly working and that every witness they call, if he indicates something that needs investigation, they also call other witnesses, so my clear instructions, which are also the instructions of the Holy Synod, are to clarify the case completely this and everything else has to do with either wrongdoing or something that is not going well in the Church of Cyprus".

He noted that this is a "principle that must be continued so that there can be clarification and investigation of all aspects."

Asked about the testimonies of the monks in relation to the money found, the Archbishop said “I will not go into the trial process. When they are investigated, the conclusion will come, and this conclusion of the investigation will be sent to the six-member committee and from there the discussion will take place."

He also said in reply to another question that the Police visited him and asked him certain things.
