The Sagrada Familia, the largest Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, Spain and one of the country's most famous tourist attractions, has agreed to pay $ 41 million to municipal authorities as it has not had a building permit for more than 130 years, according to the BBC website.
The impressive architectural work designed by Anthony Gaud, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is still under construction.
The Sagrada Familia will pay the money over ten years to improve public transport, access to the monument and to help the neighborhood where the building is located.
About 4,5 million people visit the Sagrada Familia each year and another 20 million in the area to see the church from the outside.
The main construction is expected to be completed by 2026, the 100th anniversary of Gaud.'S death.
