COVID-19: 19 cases in China - 1,185 deaths in Brazil

The National Health Committee announced today that until midnight yesterday Wednesday it was informed about the detection of 19 new cases of coronavirus infection in mainland China, clarifying that 13 of them were confirmed in Beijing, while 5 were "imported", according to the terminology used by Chinese authorities when recording cases of people infected among travelers arriving in the territory from abroad.

The 19th case was reported in Beijing's neighboring province of Hebei, according to the Chinese Ministry of Health. Authorities in the Chinese capital have imposed tougher measures after locating a restaurant in a wholesale food market in a southern suburb of the 20-million-strong city.

No patient death was reported due to it COVID-19. Five patients were discharged from hospitals. 382 people continue to be treated, among them 15 in serious to critical condition, according to the daily newsletter of the Ministry of Health.

Officially, the coronavirus pandemic in the country where it broke out at the end of December amounts to 4.634 deaths due to the COVID-19 out of a total of 83.449 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Mexico: 947 deaths due to COVID-19, 5.437 cases of coronavirus infection in 24 hours

The Mexican Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that in the previous 24 hours it recorded 947 new deaths of patients due to COVID-19 and another 5.437 confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The coronation pandemic in the country reached 24.324 deaths, out of a total of 196.847 people diagnosed with the disease. This latest figure is actually estimated to be much higher, the government notes.

Brazil: 1.185 deaths due to it COVID-19, 42.725 new coronavirus infections in 24 hours

The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced yesterday Wednesday that the previous 24 hours recorded 1.185 deaths due to COVID-19 and 53.830 new confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The death toll from the coronation pandemic in the worst-hit country in the Latin American and Caribbean regions and the second-highest in the world after the United States has risen to 53.830, with nearly 1,2 million people infected. Worse, much of the scientific community believes that the information officially announced about infections is greatly underestimated.
