Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the first vaccine against the disease COVID-19 has registered in Russia, Tass reports.

The chief external epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health Nikolai Briko told the agency that there are no reasons to postpone the registration of the vaccine which has been developed by the Federal Research Center NF Gamalegia for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

"This vaccine was not developed from scratch, the Gamalegia Research Center had a serious, important research base for vaccines. The technology for developing such a vaccine has been perfected. So, perhaps, the process was accelerated because the vaccine was not developed from scratch. "It is important to follow all the stages (of vaccine research) and to comply with international requirements," he added.
