A fire broke out on the ground floor of a 16-story building in Sisli, Istanbul, killing 12 people and injuring 11, seven of whom are in serious condition.
In the announcement issued by the Istanbul Administration, it is stated that the fire is believed to have been caused by renovation work.

According to reports, an explosion occurred on the stage of the nightclub called Masquerade, located on the ground floor of the 16-story building, which was closed for Ramadan while it was being renovated. After the explosion, a fire broke out in the nightclub. As the fire raged, the club and building filled with smoke. At that moment, those in the club and building were trapped.
