A fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday in a training truck in Paphos.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nikolaou, at around 4:30 on Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in a training truck, which belongs to a 58-year-old driver instructor, which was permanently parked in the forecourt of the Department of Road Transport in Paphos and used for the purpose of training persons who wanted to obtain a truck license.

The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service and the scene was secured. With the first light of day, the examinations of the Police, the Fire Brigade and the Electromechanical Service resumed, in order to ascertain the exact causes of the fire.

In the meantime, a second truck that was parked next to it and belongs to a company in the Mesogi industrial area, which is right next to the Paphos Road Transport Department, suffered extensive damage.
