Germany: New elections are favored by a majority of voters

A majority of Germans are calling for new elections after the failure of the exploratory talks for the "Jamaican" government, according to a poll conducted by the first channel of the German public television ARD.

In the same poll, public opinion seems to blame the Liberals (FDP). In the same poll, 57% find the dissolution of the negotiations sad, while 31% welcome it.

The FDP is responsible for the failure for 32%, the Christian Socialists (CSU) for 18%, the Greens for 15% and the Christian Democrats for 9%.

29% are in favor of forming a minority government, while 63% of citizens prefer new elections. Regarding the attitude of the Social Democrats (SPD), 50% prefer to stay out of government, while 44% want to join a large coalition with the Christian Union.
