There are 35 people in the hospital, 12 of whom are being treated in serious condition.

The club was hosting a concert by rapper Sfera Ebbasta, while at the time of the accident it is estimated that there were 1.000 people inside the place, who were trampled, according to the country's authorities.

A teenager told the Italian news agency ANSA that at least one of the emergency exits was locked when he tried to escape. Authorities are reportedly investigating whether the emergency exits work.
