Untitled CALIFORNIA, Fires

The devastating fires continue for a second day in California and are intensified by strong winds, especially in the Santa Ana area. Thousands of residents were forced to flee their homes.

The most difficult front is the one that broke out in the morning in the National Forest of San Bernardino.

The fire named Hillside has so far destroyed more than 200 acres (80 hectares) of dry shrubs and at least six houses. Another 500 homes are in danger and residents have been instructed to leave.

The causes of the fire are being investigated.

The National Meteorological Service issued a new red warning.

Yesterday, a fire broke out near the famous Getty Art Center, threatening thousands of homes in some of the city's richest neighborhoods. The fire was brought under control.
