Cuba: Tragedy in the air with more than 100 victims (PHOTO)

One hundred people were killed when a Boeing 737 carrying 104 people on board crashed on Friday as it took off from Havana's Jose Marti International Airport, according to Cuban state television.

Three passengers were rescued alive, but are in critical condition after the crash, the state-run Granma newspaper reported. The DMJ 0972 aircraft was leased by the airline, according to Granma.

The flight was headed to Guyana and no casualties were reported, according to CNN.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who arrived at the scene, said there were "a large number of victims".
