The catastrophic fire that broke out yesterday Sunday in the South African parliament in Cape Town, from which the plenary hall was completely destroyed, was brought under control, the fire service announced this morning to AFP.
"The fire was brought under control overnight, the forces there were gradually reduced," said Cape Town Fire Department spokesman Germain Karels.
However, he clarified that there is still a fire in the older part of the building.
