For not signing the Prespa Agreement

The intervention of the prosecutor was provoked by the refusal of the President of Macedonia, Georgi Ivanov, to sign both the law on the expansion of the use of the Albanian language in the country and the Prespa Agreement, in order to be ratified and enter into force.

According to the MIA news agency, the Skopje Prosecutor General ordered the launch of a preliminary investigation into Georgi Ivanov, following two anonymous allegations.

"We have requested information from the Parliament and the Office of the Presidency on the decisions of the Parliament and the dates taken as well as the reasons why they were not signed," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
