Rape, incest, murder and kidnapping were committed by its members
The life and state of this Palou family has caused shock in Turkey in recent weeks. Some of its members were arrested in a live broadcast during a TV show investigating unsolved cases.
On Wednesday, the police raided the family home of Palo in Kocaeli Province in western Turkey, at the same time the police arrested Tounser Oustael, the same family, in the studio of the emission of mute Anli, the private ATV channel.
According to local media, the family members arrested inside the house face serious charges of murder, kidnapping, pedophilia and torture. Anli and her guests burst into applause watching the arrests live.
It has been reported so far that Ustael married one of the daughters of the Palou family ten years ago and soon converted most of its members to his personal, Islamic sect. He then forced them to kill three of their relatives, while he systematically raped four children, including his own.
One of the children managed to escape and go to the Police, but returned to his family because all the members assured the authorities that the little boy did not know what he was saying because "he had been abducted by unknown masked men".
In addition to the rape and torture, Ustael left his wife's sister to starve and raped her 6-year-old daughter before poisoning her. Mother and daughter have been missing for almost ten years.
During his ten years in office, Ustael was convicted only once of stealing a relative's property. The charges of murder and rape were dropped because four of his accomplices in the family refused to testify against him.
The case came to light in December, when two members of the family appeared on Anli's show. The broadcasts continued for weeks, with Ustael as the central guest, who denied the allegations and lied to each other. On Wednesday, however, the police took action and finally proceeded to arrests.
Three members of the Palou family are being treated in psychiatric hospitals, after being tortured by the "believers" of Ustael, who, according to experts, suffers from "psychotic disorder".
The investigation ordered by Kocaeli's prosecution for the family continues.
