Dozens of women protest in Afghanistan's capital to demand respect for their rights

Members of the Taliban, which seized power in Afghanistan in August, opened fire to disperse women who took part in a demonstration in the Afghan capital, Kabul, today, Afghan news agency Asvaka reported.

According to the agency, the incident took place near the hospital of the Italian non-governmental organization Emergency.

There are no reports of deaths or injuries so far.

The TOLOnews television network reported earlier that several dozen women had demonstrated in the Afghan capital to demand that their rights be respected.
