In order to avoid any differences in the executive system, the cabinet will issue legislative acts to ensure the mandate of all institutions until the new system is fully completed.

Under the new system of government, Turkey will have 16 ministries, nine presidential councils and four offices under Erdogan.

AKP to announce a candidate

On July 7th, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is expected to hold the first meeting of the new Erdogan-led parliamentary group, with 295 AKP lawmakers in attendance. During the meeting, Erdogan is expected to announce outgoing Prime Minister Binili Gildrim as the AKP candidate for parliament speaker.

The leaders of the AKP parliamentary groups are also expected to be announced on the same day.
