The man posted a video on TikTok on Monday in which he is shown stroking his daughter's breasts under her clothes. "Thank God it's soft as cream," she says of the teenage girl who does not speak. The video provoked strong reactions on social networking sites, with many users calling for her father to be arrested and TikTok shut down. Turkey is regularly shocked by videos showing physical or sexual violence against women or girls.
In early March, a video of a man hitting his ex-wife on the street in front of their 5-year-old daughter had sparked outrage. Women's rights groups have accused the Turkish government of failing to crack down on such perpetrators, encouraging in this way, according to them, the feeling of impunity.
