An Australian-based media technology company has fired an employee accused of leaking a video of two TV presenters commenting critically on tennis player Novak Djokovic, whose Australian visa was revoked today.

Ai-Media Technologies, which provides subtitling and other services, did not name the employee.

The video, which contained offensive characterizations of the top tennis player, was leaked this week.

This shows the presenters of Seven West Media's 7NEWS show discussing Djokovic's case out of the air, calling it fraudulent.

The video appears to have been taken unknowingly by the presenters and was widely watched by social media users, with many of them expressing their support for the presenters.

Seven users even defended the presenters, saying that the recording of the video violates state laws.

"Ai-Media has found that an employee who works remotely due to the pandemic of COVID-19 is responsible for the distribution of optical material made without permission. "This person is no longer employed by Ai-Media," the company confirmed in an email to Reuters.

There was no immediate comment from this official.
