7,5 Richter made the earth tremble
The quake, according to the US Geological Survey, had a magnitude of 7,7. According to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute it was 7,5 Richter.
The epicenter was reported 224 kilometers southeast of the Ecuadorian city of Abato, near the Peruvian border.
Residents of the area near the Peruvian-Ecuadorian border said they felt the earth shaking from the strong earthquake.
