The list of seven British cities vying to host the next Eurovision contest has been revealed.

Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield are bidding for the May 2023 event.

According to the BBC, a total of 20 cities have expressed interest in Eurovision. London and Belfast, among others, were left out.

This year's Eurovision award was won by Ukraine, but as the country is at war, it was deemed appropriate that the next event be held in the UK.

British singer Sam Ryder took second place in the competition.

Every year, Eurovision attracts thousands of visitors to the place where it is organized, while around 160 million television viewers watch it around the world.
