British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party has lost its lead over the opposition Labor Party following revelations about the Christmas party's alleged looting in Downing Street that have sparked outrage and protests.

A YouGov poll conducted for The Times shows that Johnson's Tories have lost their lead by three percentage points in the vote, up from 33% on Dec. 2, while Labor has risen. by 4 percentage points reaching 37%.

Johnson secured 365 of the 650 seats in the 2019 snap-election, the largest majority of the Tories since Margaret Thatcher's victory in 1987.

Johnson imposed restrictive measures in England on Wednesday, hours after apologizing for leaking a video showing Downing Street executives having fun at a 2020 Christmas party during the Lockdown ban.

Three-quarters of respondents estimate that Christmas parties were held in violation of applicable regulations and 68% of respondents believe that Johnson lied when he denied it, according to the Times.
