A new survey has released data on the average internet access speed on mobile devices and home connections. According to the Speedtest Global Index, the average internet speed has risen over the last year.
In mobile internet, Cyprus is ranked 5th out of 139 countries, while Greece is in 25th place and having fallen 5 places compared to last year. In terms of home connections, Cyprus is in 81st place while Greece is in 100th place among 180 countries.
For another year, the champion in mobile internet is the United Arab Emirates (average speed 190.03Mbps), with South Korea (189.20Mbps) and Qatar (170.77Mbps) following. Cyprus is also doing quite well with an average recorded speed of 154.13Mbps. At the bottom of the list are Venezuela with 7.61Mbps and Afghanistan with 6.71Mbps.
In terms of home broadband connections, Monaco is in first place with 256.70Mbps, followed by Singapore with 256.03Mbps and Hong Kong with 248.59Mbps. At the bottom of the list are Cuba and Turkmenistan with 4.61Mbps.
