Priority for an appointment will be given from tomorrow, at 9 in the morning, to people aged 69 and over, as part of the plans of the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19.

Specifically, 17,496 appointments will be available through the Vaccination Portal for all Vaccination Centers operating in all Provinces.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, the vaccinations are carried out with three vaccines licensed by the European Medicines Agency, Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca. In the coming days, the European Medicines Agency will evaluate the application submitted by Johnson & Johnson for the licensing of its vaccine, which is a single dose.

As of yesterday, March 1, there were 82,564 vaccinations in the Vaccination Centers, which exist in all Provinces. It is reminded that since last week, two new Vaccination Centers were put into operation in Larnaca and Paphos, increasing the possibility for vaccinations, in view of the increased quantities of vaccines that will be received in the near future. In full development of the Vaccination Centers, up to 15,000 vaccinations per day will be possible.

In order to avoid inconvenience and confusion in the Vaccination Centers, the Ministry addresses a warm appeal as the people who will be vaccinated to go to the Vaccination Centers at the time they have scheduled their appointment and not earlier.

It is also recommended to the citizens who belong to the age sub-group that has priority for vaccination, to make an appointment at the first available time and time, so that there is a continuous flow in the Vaccination Centers.

It is reminded that depending on the rate of exhaustion of appointments for people over 69 years, citizens will be informed through an announcement about the availability of appointments in next age sub-groups. Citizens are invited to follow the announcements of the Ministry of Health, in order to know the differences in the age group and to make an appointment.
