After several questions from citizens regarding the rescheduling of appointments for the administration of the 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the Ministry of Health informs that they have already started sending text messages to citizens according to the date of the 1st dose.

In its announcement today, the competent Ministry states that the delay observed in informing the beneficiaries was largely due to the delay in sending the quantity by the manufacturing company last week.

However, according to the latest information, the receipt has been finalized at the end of the week and according to the delivery schedule of the company, the quantities that will be received in June are enough to complete the administration of the 2nd dose of those who have already been vaccinated with the vaccine. AstraZeneca.

Specifically, so far the rescheduling of 12,600 appointments has been finalized, while the rescheduling is proceeding in the following days of another 25,000 appointments related to the period until June 23.

Beneficiaries are informed through the software by text message.

It is noted that in the Vaccination Centers of Polis Chrysochous and Troodos Hospital, the reprogramming has started and is done by phone.

It is reminded that the appointments are rescheduled at the same Vaccination Center where the first dose was given. For example, citizens scheduled to receive the 1nd installment on June 2 at Vaccination Center A of the State Exhibition will be rescheduled for May 23 at the same Center.

The importance of completing the vaccination plan according to the vaccine given to each citizen is emphasized once again.
According to scientific data, the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks, while as has been shown in various studies internationally, vaccination provides maximum effectiveness and protection only with the completion of the vaccination regimen.

The improvement in the epidemiological picture of the last few weeks is largely due to the evolution of our vaccination plan.
The positive response of the citizens is evidenced by the high rates of vaccination coverage.

As of May 25, 50,4% have been vaccinated with the first dose (1 people) and 372,696% have completed their vaccination schedule (23,7 people).

In order to gain immunity and shield the population, while reducing the spread of the virus in the community and preventing the spread of mutations, vaccination needs to continue at the same intensive rate, the Ministry concludes.
