The process for disciplinary prosecution of fifteen members of the Police in the well-known Metaxa case has begun, who killed five women and two minor children. Fifteen members of the Police are charged with various disciplinary offenses including negligence and misconduct.

In his statements to KYPE, the Police Spokesman Christos Andreou stated that "the case was investigated by the Complaints Investigation Authority. After the study of the file and with instructions of the Attorney General, we proceed to the disciplinary prosecution against 15 of our members ". He noted that the whole process has already begun.

"They started accusing us in writing and handing them over to our members - who are not only police officers, they are also sergeants and officers. The testimony material is handed over, as usual, in order for their disciplinary prosecution to begin in the next period of time ", added Mr. Andreou. He said that the Committees will be set up to adjudicate these cases and that this is done on the basis of the legislation and the police provisions of the Police. He stressed that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

"The trial must be completed to determine whether or not they are guilty of the disciplinary offenses for which they are currently being charged," he added.
