Regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers to make self-tests available to the public from December 13, the Ministry of Health informs that the free distribution of self-tests by Pharmacies will begin on December 20, and that a package will be provided that includes five self-tests on each individual who completed their vaccination regimen.

It is stressed that the delay is due to the fact that the Ministry of Health has taken appropriate action to ensure that self-tests that arrive in Cyprus will detect all mutations, including Omicron.

The self-tests will be provided by the pharmacies contracted with GESS, with the beneficiaries presenting proof of identification. Beneficiaries are those who have completed their vaccination regimen. Those people who have completed their vaccination program in Cyprus and are not beneficiaries of GESS will be able to receive the self-tests from points that will be indicated to them in each province. More information will be given in the coming days regarding the use and availability of self-tests.
