From the national report announced today by the Ministry of Health for the analysis until June 30, the following stand out:

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the median age of cases is 23 years. The low vaccination coverage in the under 40s and the lack of observance in the places where people of these ages socialize, keep the cases in a high percentage in contrast to the age groups over 40 years where due to the vaccination shield, the cases remain at a rate of less than 10% (typically, in people 70-79 years with a vaccination rate of 92%, the incidence rate is at 1,7% and at 80 and above is at 0,4%).

The aggravated epidemiological situation at a young age is also reflected in the cumulative impact of 14 days. For people up to 19 years old, the cumulative effect is 445,8 / 100,000 and for people aged 20-59 years is 268,6 / 100,000. In the age groups 60-69, 70-79 and 80+ the cumulative effect is 75,1, 58,7 and 26,9 / 100,000 respectively.

In relation to the cumulative impact, the increase in cases brought Cyprus ranked by the ECDC in the red category, and is marginal to be classified as deep red. Strong increase is recorded in Famagusta (940,7 / 100,000), while except Paphos (112,2 / 100,000) all other Provinces have a cumulative impact of over 200.
