The list for payments over € 1 million made in the year 2018 by Ministries / Departments / Services and Special Funds of the Government to Natural or Legal Persons, was published by the General Accounting Office of the Republic.
According to the data, most of the money, namely € 187,8 million, was paid to the European Commission as own source payments, € 59,1 million to the EAC for electricity consumption, € 42,9 million as a state sponsorship to the Central Equal Authority. Weight Allocation, € 41,2 million as a state sponsorship to the CTO and € 38,6 million at the Cyprus University of Technology as a state sponsorship as well.
In the top ten where most payments were made, we find the Municipality of Nicosia with € 34,9 million (state sponsorship), the COM with € 33,1 million (state sponsorship), the CMO with € 27 million state sponsorship, the RIC with € 21,7 million and CARAMONDANI DESALINATION PLANTS LTD with € 18,3 million for water purchase.
The data presented relate to payments made through the FIMAS accounting system, which is used by all Ministries / Departments / Services and Special Funds.
Payments relate to purchases, sponsorships and other purposes.
The amounts presented relate to total payments (before the deduction of any set-off against debts to the State).
