A 31-year-old man, who was wanted internationally by the Ukrainian authorities, was arrested at Larnaca airport yesterday and detained.
The 31-year-old arrived at Larnaca airport yesterday at noon from a foreign country. The passport control revealed that he is wanted by the Ukrainian authorities, for the crime of continuous recruitment of persons for the purpose of exploitation in prostitution.
The detainee was brought before the Larnaca District Court today, for the start of the extradition process in Ukraine. The Court ordered that he remain in custody until the commencement of the proceedings on 30 July 2021.
