The opinion that they will not tolerate to be another "guinea pig" of the pandemic was expressed by the President of the Pancyprian Federation of Leisure Center Owners Associations (OSIKA) Neophytos Thrasyvoulou, after the meeting of the leisure center branches with the Ministry of Finance.
In a written announcement, Mr. Thrasyvoulou states that at the meeting OSIKA has clarified that this time proper studies must be done and the corresponding strict protocols must be entered, so that the recreation centers are opened, once and for all, and there is no need to close again, something that happened a few months ago.
He estimated that the opening and after a few days, the closing of the centers, causes great damage to businesses, which is shouldered by their owners, who are now on the ventilator.
"It is enough to victimize the leisure centers, which have paid and are paying the highest price of the pandemic," said Mr. Thrasyvoulou, noting that many companies are unable to reopen due to serious financial problems created by the coronavirus.
He added that we should expect to see the pandemic and then take decisions on the reopening of recreation centers, while calling on the government to put pressure on the EU to start intensive vaccinations.
