All roads leading to Troodos are still closed due to the heavy snowfall that continues from yesterday in the highest mountains and nature trails have become impassable, the Police said in a statement, noting that based on the new decree of the Ministry of Health access to nature trails is not allowed.
"The heavy snowfall in the higher mountains continues since yesterday, which results in the closure of all roads leading to Troodos. "Due to the snowfall, the nature trails in the area have also become impassable", it is reported.
It is reminded that according to the new decree (No. 6 of 2021), of the Ministry of Health, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which came into immediate effect yesterday, January 28, 2021, access to nature trails is not allowed.
The public is called upon, as it "demonstrates the appropriate responsibility and discipline, to comply with the relevant decrees and to move in places where movements are allowed".
The intensive controls, for the implementation of the provisions of the relevant decrees of the Ministry of Health, continue on a pan-Cypriot basis, the police announcement concludes.
